REGINA, Sask.-May marks 50 years that the First Nations University of Canada has been welcoming students. Begun in May 1976 as Saskatchewan Indian Federated College, the goal for the school was to have a culturally safe institution that taught Indigenous values, customs and languages, as well as teaching Canadian history from a First Nations' perspective.
