Council Fire, daily devotionals written exclusively by Indigenous and Native American followers of Jesus, has been our best seller this year. We have printed and distributed over 30,000 copies with more reprints to come. That's 30,000 copies in 2 years! We praise God for giving Intertribal Life Ministries such an opportunity as this, and for our many partners who have helped make this publication possible.
About a year ago, the Intertribal Life Ministries team, along with Kene and Milly Jackson from the Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, started dreaming again. What would it look like to reach people in communities that don't have easy access to delivered literature? Was turning the Council Fire printed devotional into a podcast, something that the Lord would have us start pursuing?
The answer we sensed from the Lord was a resounding yes! And so, on November 27, 2025, our first narrator for the Council Fire podcast was recorded! Kevin Elias, from the Elias Family Band, along with his family, travelled to Sioux Lookout, Ont., to start recording with a mobile sound booth.
Since then, four other narrators have been recorded; Gary Quequish, Journey Flett, Bessie McPeek and Laurie Wood Ducharme. Remaining narrators for volume 1 of Council Fire, are Kene and Milly Jackson, Kim Hill Elias and Frank Ward.
The goal is to have http://www.councilfire365.org launched by January 1, 2026.
Pray along with us, with much excitement and anticipation, as we work collaboratively and hard, to get this project launched, to the glory of God!
