The Elias Family Band
Langdon, Alb.—On November 1, 2025, Intertribal Life Ministries (ILM) hosted a Dessert Night fundraiser at The Meeting Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This Dessert Night replaced the annual fall fundraising banquet and offered a plethora of desserts, music, fellowship, and testimonies for 170 attendees.
The event featured the music of the Elias Family Band. Kevin and Kim Elias and their four sons travel extensively, sharing the love and grace of God through energetic, bluegrass-infused music. They are often known for their time with the Dry River Boys, Singing Hills and their appearances on "Tribal Trails" television show.
During the evening, ILM leaders discussed how ILM supports and works with people and other ministries, the ways they saw the Lord work during the previous year, and some exciting plans and goals for the next year. The encouraging evening was designed to build up the body of Christ and testify to the goodness of God.
"It was a great evening of fellowship, hearing from people who have been impacted by ILM and how ILM is aiding in their ministries," said ILM director, Todd Wawrzyniak. "When we say we seek to work together with other ministries, and support one another, we mean it."
During the event, several people gave testimonies of how different aspects of Intertribal Life Ministries have affected their lives and their ministries.
Kim Elias, of the Elias Family Band, told how Council Fire devotional books have been a blessing to their ministry and are impacting the people they serve.
Jeff Caouette, co-chair of the Native Youth Conference, talked not only about the history of NYC, but where youth come from to attend the event, how young people hear gospel there and grow spiritually, and how essential ILM is to helping plan the event.
Another testimony was that of Becky Kew, ILM board member, who talked about how ILM material has been integral to the ministry she has had in the Indigenous community for over 20 years. Kew encouraged attendees to get involved in ministry and help spread the word about ILM, but more importantly, she challenged those around the tables to share the gospel with a world that needs Christ.
"I am so glad I came tonight, it was so encouraging to be here."
Wawrzyniak also expressed appreciation for the venue and those who helped make the event a success. "A huge thank you to our many volunteers and table hosts who invited friends to hear about the ministry. Without them, the evening wouldn't have been the same. To God be the glory."
